Launch of Explore Your Archive 2025 campaign at North East Wales Archives, Hawarden
On Friday the 28th of November the Explore your Archive campaign was officially launched by Jack Sargent MS, Minister for Culture, Skills and Social Partnership, at North East Wales Archives, Hawarden. The theme for this year’s celebrations was Conservation – an essential and core function of our archive services that ensures records survive in the long term and remain accessible and authentic for present and future generations.
The annual campaign takes place this year between the 29th of November and 7th of December 2025. Archives across Wales will be celebrating and showcasing the best of archives and archive services, and encouraging visitors to discover the stories, facts, places and people that are at the heart of Welsh communities. As part of the celebrations, many archives will hold special activities and welcome the public to experience, understand and take pride in the wealth and variety of material they hold.

The Explore your Archive Campaign aims to encourage visitors to explore the phenomenal archival collections held by organisations – public and private – across the UK and Ireland, whatever their size and scale, and wherever they are. The campaign is owned by the sector itself and delivered by a wide range of partners and stakeholders, including The National Archives (UK) and the Archives and Records Association (UK & Ireland), and is supported in Wales by Welsh Government.
