International Archives Day: Celebrating the Work of Archive Services in Wales

Happy International Archives Day! Today we celebrate the richness of archival collections, and the importance of the work of archivists and archival institutions around the world.

It is my pleasure to introduce you to the second edition of “Into the Archives,” a celebratory booklet produced by Archives and Records Council Wales (ARCW) highlighting the fantastic work carried out by the archive services of Wales.

Since the publication of the last report in 2016, partnership working has been at the heart of everything we do, building connections across organisational boundaries so that our partners can work together to promote a better understanding and awareness of Wales’s unique archival heritage.

This booklet outlines how ARCW has supported the work of archive services across Wales in acquiring, preserving, and making available the precious documents that represent our, and our nation’s shared history. In a period dominated by many challenges, not least COVID-19 restrictions, and lockdowns, we’re immensely proud of everything our colleagues across Wales have achieved.

You can download and read the Welsh and English language versions of the booklet below.
