Museums, archives and libraries staff from across Wales attended a prestigious awards ceremony at the National Library of Wales in Aberystwyth.

The Marketing Excellence Awards recognise the fantastic work being done by staff who work with often very limited resources.

Entries were received from libraries, archives and museums from up and down the country. Categories included demonstrating marketing excellence, joint marketing project of the year and marketing champion of the year in each sector.

Attendees at the presentation event in Aberystwyth had the chance to hear from judge Jonathan Deacon, Professor of Marketing at the University of South Wales and Trustee of the Chartered Institute of Marketing Cymru. Professor Deacon commented: ‘I have been judging the Marketing Excellent Awards since they began several years ago, and the resourcefulness and innovation of staff in libraries, museums and archives continues to impress me.

‘Many of the entries show what can be done with a very small budget and a lot of creativity and the ideas are examples of marketing practice that would be applied to any business or organisation within Wales.’

Winners received a trophy and certificate, along with a variety of prizes including an iPad Mini, Drone Camera and Half Day Workshop at University of South Wales.
